Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the serene village of Chexbres, Le Baron Tavernier offers an experience that is hard to surpass for those who appreciate culinary innovation against a backdrop of breathtaking beauty. My stay exposed me to the gastronomic delights within their renowned restaurant, Le Deck. On my visit, I savored the international alpine flavors, seamlessly paired with local wines, each sip echoing the sun-kissed vineyards that surrounded us. As the sun descended over Lake Geneva, the ambiance became even more enchanting – a truly picturesque setting for dining. The highlight was the Bao Burgers served between 14:30 and 17:30, a perfect afternoon treat that left me yearning for more. I also appreciated the flexibility offered by the accommodating staff; requesting a late check-out became a simple affair. Our spacious room, with its delightful balcony overlooking the vineyards, offered a welcome respite after culinary indulgences. There’s much to see and do nearby, including a charming bakery just a stroll away. For food enthusiasts, Baron Tavernier is more than just a hotel; it’s an invitation to explore the flavors and serenity of Switzerland’s enchanting Lavaux region.
